Crossed Traditions Project - in the framework of the Traver'Cé Musicales Festival

Led by the Franco-Palestinian musician Ramzi Aburedwan, the Arab-Andalusian Orchestra is made up of artists from across Anjou, of all ages, in an intergenerational and multicultural dynamic.

Crossed Traditions: This original creation, presented by the Arab-Andalusian Orchestra of Anjou, aims to bring together major female voices from the Maghreb, each representing a specific facet of the region’s musical tradition, to offer a new work that fuses these repertoires while paying tribute to them.

Accompanied by three Maghrebian singers – Samira Brahmia, Aïcha Lebgaâ, and Bouthaïna Nabouli – this orchestra will take you on a musical journey around the world, with a repertoire ranging from the Levant (Middle East) to Eastern Europe, as well as Africa and Asia.

Arab-Andalusian Orchestra from Anjou

Conducted by Ramzi Aburedwan, the Arab-Andalusian Orchestra is made up of artists from all over Anjou, of all ages, in an intergenerational and multicultural dynamic. They have a vast repertoire ranging from the Levant (Middle East) to Eastern Europe via Africa and Asia. It is above all the compositions of the members of the orchestra that gradually constitutes the repertoire. The themes addressed revolve around the Andalusian lyrical imagination, and are conveyed through courtly love, wine, and gardens.

Al Manara

Al Manara (meaning The Beacon) is a Belgian-Palestinian ensemble built on the collaborative juices and musical dialogue occurring between Ramzi and the Belgian pianist, conductor and composer Éloi Baudimont.

La pièce de théâtre Taha

Taha est une pièce pour un acteur, écrite et jouée pour la première fois par Amer Hlehel au théâtre Al-Midane d’Haïfa le 7 mai 2014. Elle s’inspire de la vie du poète palestinien Taha Muhammad Ali, symbole d’une Palestine perdue et reconquise par les mots. Taha est un poète. Il est seul sur scène. Fort de son expérience, il raconte son parcours, à la fois si singulier et si universel : celui d’un homme qui a dû quitter son pays, qui a éprouvé la perte, et qui pourtant tient debout.

Tribute to the great Divas

This creation is a celebration of the great Arabic songstresses of the 20th century and a tribute to Oum Kalsoum, Fairouz, Asmahan, Leila Murad, Mayada Alhenawy, Warda al-Djazaira. From the 1940's, the woman in Arabic song represented the dream of absolute love. They also embodied an Arab world that aspired to a new boom of renaissance and modernity, an image that came to life with Arabic cinema’s musical comedy.
